May 2011Make Believe began its theatrical run, playing the Independent Film Festival Boston; Cinema Village in New York, with a premiere at the historic Friar's Club; Chicago's Facets Cinematheque; and, with a premiere party at the world famous Magic Castle, the Laemmle Sunset 5 in LA! June 2011Make Believe continued its theatrical run at Los Angeles' Laemmle Sunset 5; Santa Monica's Laemmle 4 Plex; a second run at Chicago's Facets Cinematheque; and the Cineteca Nacional in Mexico City. July 2011Make Believe continued to play cinemas including the Seoul International Youth Film Festival in Seoul, Korea; the renowned Alamo Drafthouse Cinema in Austin, Texas; and the Balboa Theater in San Francisco. August 2011Make Believe ran at the The Clinton Street Theater in Portland, Oregon. September 2011Make Believe screened at the Macrobert Arts Centre in Stilring, Scotland and was a featured part of the 2011 Milwaukee Film Festival. October 2011Make Believe continued its theatrical release with runs in Omaha, Nebraska; Buffalo, New York; and at the Paramount Theater in Charlottesville, Virgina, the hometown of director J. Clay Tweel. November 2011Make Believe was proud to be a part of the US Department of State's American Documentary Showcase, traveling across Vietnam and Thailand and screening to diplomats, universities, and the public. January 2012Once again part of the "Houdini: Art & Magic" exhibit, Make Believe screened at the Contemporary Jewish Museum in San Francisco. The film was also a special premiere film at the World Film Festival in Bangkok, Thailand and had a special screening at the Telluride Film Festival Sunday at the PALM in Telluride, Colorado. February 2012Make Believe was a featured family program at the Victoria TX Independent Film Festival. March 2012Make Believe continued to screen at the Victoria TX Independent Film Festival. July 2012Make Believe is now streaming on Netflix! November 2012Make Believe screeend at the Belmont Film Festival and is now available on platforms including Netflix, iTunes, Amazon, DVD, and Showtime! |
